Coping with the fatigue associated with chronic illness

  • Pace yourself: listen to your body, rest when you are tired, learn to slow down and not overdo.
  • Set boundaries: it is okay to say no to others, to ask for help, and to do what you need to do to care for you.
  • Healthy, whole foods and gentle exercise: ask your doctor what kinds of foods are best for helping you heal from the inside out or work with a dietitian, follow your doctor’s recommendations for exercising.

Giving yourself what you need is not selfish and will help protect the energy you do have. It is not always easy to take good care of yourself, but you deserve it!

At KPS Counseling, we have experience helping those living with chronic illness and pain.
